Is Jehovah Telling the Governing Body to Shut Down?

is the governing body haunted by the thought that jehovah is telling them no and shut down?.

rutherford is reported to have sought cash and rationed coal as a test of jehovah's will.

knorr reported on getting an unexpected windfall of cash when they sought to buy the towers hotel.. but from where i sit, jehovah seems to have become very ungenerous towards these would-be theocrats, in recent years.. they dumped subscriptions.. they cut literature.. they went to paperbacks.. they cut magazines, by my count, for the third time.. they laid off bethelites.. they sold off brooklyn buildings.. they sold off printing/binding equipment.. so, now their latest 'litmus test' of jehovah's will is to simply dump the magazines in one lump and tell people to only take what they need.

while Governing Body members toss and turn without rest, wondering why Jehovah has closed his Celestial Wallet.

They will never lose a minutes sleep over what is happening. The org is split into multiple companies to prevent it all going down. There will always be enough in the coffers to keep the GB and supporting cronies in the manner to which they are accustomed, absolute luxury.

That's because David Carter came from Mansfield in Nottinghamshire! Apparantly his wife Pauline died and he has remarried.

Where did England disappear to?

england is the oldest nation-state in europe.

it is a pround and historic nation that is often buried under a "british" identity by the uk government.

within the european unon, scotland and wales are treated as regional entities, yet england is broken up into 6 regions and is not acknowledged as an entity in itself.

You have conveniently missed the point I was making about Scotland's claim to independence when it suits them to be Scottish and being a part of Britain when it benefits them.

Can't understand why the Scottish want independence anyway, most of them live in here England! Even news readers and voice overs all seem to be Bill Paxton 'och the noo' types.

As for an English National Anthem, see www.anthem4england.co.uk We really need to push St George but not in the stlye of Elgar or the likes, more a 'Rocking St George'; perhaps we should ask Mick & Keith to knock something up!

How Do People Like Sir 82 & Others Who Are Active JWs Do It ???

i appreciate any who tell us what the latest co's talk is about or what was said at the meetings.

i just don't know how you can do it.

knowing that the "truth" is false and even laughable, it boggles my mind that you can still go, listen to the spiritual bullshit and maintain.. how do you do it?.

I am in that very position and have been so for over a year now. However being raised a JW and I am in my mid 60's, another year or two to leave on my terms is the way it has to be. I have no desire to take up smoking, drugs, booze or even the nice blonde next door. I definitely do not want to lose my wife of more than 40 years or other family members, and just walking away could easily result in that. I am carefully working on my wife and family, how long for the penny to drop there I do not know.

It costs me a couple of hours on a Thursday evening, same on a Sunday and the odd hour going with an Elder on a BS or RV or two once a month or so. I do not like the situation any more than others in my position. If I were single, with no close family, you would not see me for dust!!

JW Magistrate?

i friend of mine told me today that her son has applied to become a magistrate (in the uk).

magistrates have to swear two oaths: an oath of allegiance and a judicial oath but apparently he has sought permission and has been told this is ok. is that right?.
